Election Frenzy is Out of Control

Our destiny as a nation lies not in the hands of any political candidate or party but in the hands of the CHURCH!

America is currently caught up in an unprecedented frenzy of political madness! The leading candidates from both parties seem more like characters from a sleazy movie rather than leaders who possess character, integrity and the ability to lead a nation founded upon Judeo-Christian principles.

But then, it can be argued that we are no longer a nation “under God” or governed by His principles. Our courts, public schools, universities and even churches have turned from belief and adherence to the Scriptures and have embraced the popular culture and political correctness which espouses individual freedom with no absolutes.

If it is true the culture of a nation reflects and dictates the leadership of that nation, then we are probably going to get what we deserve in the upcoming election! Case in point: In the Old Testament in the book of 1 Samuel, Israel demanded a king to rule over them so they could be just like the other nations:

But when they (the elders of Israel) said, “Give us a king to lead us,” this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord. And the Lord told him: “Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king.” (1Samuel 8:6-7)

Throughout history when nations have turned away from God, they may have suffered judgement and decline, but God has always offered a way back even in judgement. He offers hope both to individuals and to nations that turn back to Him.

Church Steeple

The scriptures clearly define that road back to God: If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

This scripture says it’s not unbelievers who must first turn from sin or seek God, but GOD’S OWN PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLED BY HIS NAME. We, the Church, are called to humble ourselves, pray, turn from our wicked ways and seek God before anyone else!

The only hope for America lies with the CHURCH! God has put the fate of our nation into the hands of His people and His Church. I confess that I’m guilty! I complain about the mess we’re in, about the candidates, about the economy, about everything else more than I’ve sought to obey God’s clear answer given in Scripture–to humble myself and pray.

We need to be gathering together in homes and in churches, humbling ourselves, confessing our own sin and desperately crying out for God’s mercy and for America’s future. The destiny of America lies not in the hands of any political candidate or party, but in the CHURCH’S obedience to God’s clear answer given in Scripture.

  1. Jesus Christ said, Heaven and Earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away. Let us think of the 10 Commandments and realize that If we can endeavor to keep the 10 Commandments, the world will be in peace. These 10 beneficial laws were given by the Creator God to show us how to live a better life now and please God forever. Jesus Christ is the way. The only way to go to God is by Him. That way is in the 10 commandments

  2. Thank you for the above article. Jesus message from beginning to end was “The Kingdom Of Heaven is at Hand”. His heart is for the spread of the Kingdom of Heaven through out the world in all nations, not just our nation. This should be the heart and message of the Church.
