A Call to Prayer

I was privileged to see the new faith-based film, The War Room, in a pre-lease showing last night. I encourage everyone to see this film. A little slow at first, it builds in interest and by the end you’re shouting, “Hallelujah.” It’s a powerful call to Christians to enter the “War Room” of our prayer closets to pray for the Church, our nation and the next generation.

As Christians, our true source of power does not rest in our political system or political leaders, nor in our economic power or influence, but in God alone. And our battle plan must come from Him if we are to take back the Church, our nation and the next generation.

I have a passion to pray for our young people–a generation we as the Church have failed to disciple. This generation is being destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). We have not taught them God’s Word and we have not taught them to pray. We have allowed a bankrupt culture to seep into the Church.

We must fight this supernatural battle on our knees in our individual “War Rooms.”

Let’s pray:  “Lord, may the gospel be made relevant to this generation, but not deluded and stripped of its supernatural power of the Holy Spirit. Forgive your Church for calling darkness, light and light, darkness. Forgive us for our complacency. Forgive us for being assimilated by our culture instead of being “a called out” people. Call us into perfect unity with you so that when the world looks at the Church, instead of hypocrisy, weakness and sin they may see the glorious Bride of Christ in all her splendor.”
